The Waiting is finally over. 25 years after the phenomenon that was the Spice Girls. They’re back on tour starting on the 24 th May in Dublin and are coming Manchester for three nights of their tour on May 29 th , May 30 th & June 1 st in the Etihad Stadium. This promises to be a blast from the past and will be their first appearance since performing at the 2012 London Olympics. These three evenings are set to be steeped in 90s nostalgic fun. Supporting the Spice Girls is Jess Glynne, a British singer/songwriter who has released two solo studio albums called ‘I Cry When I Laugh’ & ‘Always In Between’. As well as this Glynne has collaborated with the likes of Clean Bandit and Tinie Tempah.
Formed in 2010, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are on tour once again and coming to Manchester on June 7 th 2019. They will be playing in the beautiful setting of Heaton Park. Past releases from this band are the self-titled, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (2011), Chasing Yesterday (2015) and Who Built The Moon (2017) and recently they released Black Star Dancing, the title track of their EP which will be released on the 14 th June 2019. The Manchester stop on this tour is one of the most hotly anticipated music events of the summer and promises to be simply brilliant.
Covering an area of up to 600 acres, Heaton Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Europe. The park has a rich musical history going back as far as the early 1900's when numerous open-air gramophone concerts took place. Heaton Park has played host to many pop concerts as well as the BBC’s Proms In The Park on a number of occasions. From 2012 onwards, Heaton park has hosted Parklife, a two day musical extravaganza featuring a mixture of established, well known acts and emerging talents. This years' Parklife event will take place on June 8th to 9th 2019.
This year sees artist such as The Street, Chase & Status and Dave along with many, many more including some you may never have heard of. So get down in the mud with your wellies to experience some great music and broaden your tastes by listening to something new with your friends.
Muse: Simulation Theory The musical powerhouse Muse are playing in Manchester on the 8th June 2019 on their Simulation Theory tour. Muse formed in 1994 in Teignmouth, Devon and have enjoyed huge success over their 25 year career. From Showbiz to Origin of Symmetry from Absolution to The Resistance, they have remained current & relevant and Simulation Theory promises to be no different. The tour is set to be, as always visually stunning and packed full of awe-inspiring music. The Manchester leg of their tour will take place on the 8th June 2019 at the Etihad Stadium.
