How To Choose The Right Boots
Soft Ground Pitch = Boots With Changeable studs
Boots which have studs screwed to the sole of the boot are ideal for use on soft surfaces. The studs can be adjusted to change the grip and prevent slipping on muddy or waterlogged pitches. They are not suitable for wearing while playing on hard ground, astroturf or indoors.
Firm ground Pitch = Moulded Studs
If you are playing on firm ground, then choose boots with soft studs on the soles. The studs are moulded to the boot and cannot be altered or changed. Moulded stud boots are designed for use on firm grass and are a good all round boot.
Astroturf Pitch = Astro Soles
Specially designed astro sole boots should be worn if you are going to be playing on astroturf. Rather than studs, the soles have dimples which offer better traction on the astroturf ground.
Indoor Pitch = Non Marking Soles
If you are going to be playing football indoors, then make sure you purchase non-marking football boots. Non-marking boots are similar to football trainers and are designed to leave no marks on the indoor ground.
